Do you make all of your sweets?
We wish! The Sugar Cube does make a few items in-house, but It is one of our greatest pleasures and part of our shop's mission to work with and support chocolatiers and confectioners working locally and nationally.
How did you become a chocolate and candy store owner?
We love sweets, confections, chocolate, and all kinds of delicious food
really. We wanted to create a place that celebrated confections, that
embraced the pleasure and memories that come with them, and that had us
working with people that were passionate about the same things we were
passionate about.
Does The Sugar Cube stores have anywhere else?
Right now we only have our one store in Alexandria. We'll keep you posted though!
Do you ship?
Yes, we do. Shipping chocolates and sweets can be delicate. We take care to make sure that all of our products arrive safely and in excellent condition. Nobody likes melted chocolate. Therefore, please take time to read our shipping policies before you place an order.
The Sugar Cube ships packages Monday through Wednesday USPS Priority Mail. We do not ship over the weekends. The Sugar Cube reserves the right to ship or upgrade packages to overnight shipping if temperatures are predicted to be 75F or higher. If temperatures are or are predicted 90F or higher, The Sugar Cube reserves the right to hold packages until temperatures cool down. During periods of hot weather, The Sugar Cube reserves the right to add an additional charge for cooling materials.
When choosing an address to ship to, please consider shipping to a work address to help keep your packages from sitting on the porch all day.
Do you deliver?
There is a minimum $40.00 charge for us to deliver. We deliver to Alexandria, Crystal City, and Washington, D.C. Alexandria and Crystal City have a $10.00 delivery fee and Washington, D.C. is $15.00.
Do you wholesale your own products?
Not at this time.
I make, tasted, represent an awesome product. How do I go about getting it into your store?
Thanks for asking! While we do a lot of scouting on our own, we love customer suggestion and are always open to trying out or bringing in new products. If you are a customer with a suggestion, call, email, tell us in person. Our ears are open! If you are a local confectioner interested in having your product in our store, please give us a call (please don't just stop in - we would like to give you our full attention and ask lots of questions and that's hard to do on the spot) or shoot us an email with your product information and we'll be in touch about samples, pricing, etc. If you are a company representative, please send samples of your product to The Sugar Cube at 210 North Lee St. Alexandria, VA 22314. Please include information about your company, minimums, pricing, and any additional literature you think is informative. Thank you!
