... to our shop in Alexandria, Virginia. The Jelly Belly East Coast Tour is making a stop at our shop on Friday, May 13th from 11am - 3pm.  This is a super special, super awesome honor and we couldn't be more excited.

The Sugar Cube will also help you get on your way towards winning $10,000 as part of the Jelly Belly Cupcake Challenge. How?  We'll be setting up decorating stations with cupcakes, jelly beans, and icing. Adults and children may participate however only those 13 and older can enter the official Jelly Belly contest.

No fear however! The Sugar Cube's will hold its very own Jelly Belly cupcake decorating contest for those ages 4-12 years old.  The contest will run through May 13 - September 1st and participants will be entered to win a $100 grand prize! More details available at The Sugar Cube.

For every non-perishable food donation you bring to The Sugar Cube this Saturday, receive one percent off your total purchase up to a total of 25% off.

  1 = 1%.  10 = 10%. 20 = 20%. 

All food donations will be donated and delivered to the Capital Area Food Bank. The Capital Area Food bank is the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area's largest, public, nonprofit food and nutrition education resource. Each year the Area Food Bank helps feed over 383,000 people at risk of hunger in the Distrctrict, Montgomery and Prince George's Counties, and six Northern Virginia counties. Last year, the food bank distributed 23 million pounds of food, including 6.6 million pounds of fresh produce through their networks. The mission of the Capital Area Food Bank is not only to distribute food, but also to educate, sempower and enlighten the community on the issues of hunger and nutrition.

For our food drive we welcome all non-perishable items including (but not limited to): canned fruits and vegetables (bonus points for low sodium, no salt added), cereals, grains (rice, oatmeal couscous), canned proteins (tuna, salmon, etc...) and more.

Sweets for Mom

Mother's Day is the perfect time for just-for-Mom treats. These linzer cookies are courtesy of Chocolaterie Wanders. Linzer cookies are cinnamon-scented almond butter cookies with housemade raspberry jam and finished with confectioner's sugar. A taste of lady-like perfection. Mom would approve!
